Is it Too Late to Pursue Your Dreams?

It’s human nature to let self-doubt or the naysayers in our lives derail our passion. Excuses like “it’s too late”, “it’s too hard” or “you’re too old” are never in short supply. But here’s a lesson from my own life…

In my first year at university, I noticed an older woman sitting among the sea of much younger, bright eyed students during a lecture.

I later learned that she was a wife and mom who had to put off her dream of earning a degree and becoming a psychologist to take care of her family.

According to conventional wisdom, she should have given up on her dream and found contentment where she was in life. But she didn’t give up. She made it happen.

It was a great lesson in following your heart instead of your head because, to quote a line from the movie Rocky Balboa, “the last thing to age on a person is their heart”.

So, no. It’s not too late to follow your heart and pursue your dreams. In fact, you’re right on time!
